Zeta Eta History

SIGMA CHI - Mission
  • The Mission of the Sigma Chi Fraternity is the productive development of our fraternal order.

ZETA ETA - A brief History

  • We were orignally known as Alpha Chi Alpha: Our chapters founders knew that to make our brotherhood last we needed to be on a larger scale. Since some were already Sigs, they chose to affiliate with The Sigma Chi Fraternity. The Zeta Eta Chapter was founded in November 22-23, 1963, by a group of athletes from West Halls.

By membership since our Founding, Sigma Chi is the second largest social fraternity with over 233,500 initiated members. We have more than 36,500 living Life Loyal Sigs. We are undertaking aggressive programs toincrease this number by 1,000 this fiscal year. Total number of chapters in Sigma Chi is 221 (with 9 of these located in Canada).
